VMware is a proprietary virtualization platform that supports multiple operating systems and virtual machines. It also supports the vSphere platform for cloud computing. Hyper-V is a hypervisor-based virtualization platform from Microsoft. It supports the Windows Server operating system and is designed for enterprise-level virtualization. Proxmox is an open-source virtualization and container-based virtualization solution. It supports the KVM and LXC virtualization technologies, as well as the Ceph cluster file system. It is designed for server virtualization.
