Cloud Infrastructure Design
Cloud infrastructure is a system of distributed computing resources and services organized into a shared pool of computing power, storage, networking, and other resources that can be accessed by multiple users to create applications and services. It is designed to allow users to quickly and cost-effectively deploy and manage their applications and services in the cloud.
The core components of a cloud infrastructure design include:
- Network Infrastructure: This includes the physical network components such as routers, switches, and cables, as well as the virtual network components such as virtual private networks (VPNs), virtual local area networks (VLANs), and software-defined networking (SDN). Network infrastructure is the backbone of any cloud infrastructure.
- Storage Infrastructure: This includes the physical storage components such as hard drives, tape drives, and RAID arrays, as well as the virtual storage components such as block storage, object storage, and cloud storage. Storage infrastructure provides the necessary storage infrastructure required for applications and services.
- Compute Infrastructure: This includes the physical compute components such as servers, workstations, and blade servers, as well as the virtual compute components such as virtual machines, containers, and serverless computing. Compute infrastructure is the foundation of any cloud infrastructure.
